알렉시스의 크리스마스는 극단 이즈키엘이 2024년 크리스마스를 맞아 선보이는 가족 뮤지컬로, 재미있고 화려한 무대를 통해 크리스마스에 관해 아이들과 가족들이 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 구성되었습니다. 지난해 10주년 기념 공연 마론인형과 할리우드 프린지 연극 페스티벌 화제작 카덴자로 많은 사랑을 받은 이즈키엘 극단이 다시 한 번 무대 위에서 빛을 발합니다.
이번 작품은 이즈키엘의 히트작 마루마을을 작곡한 황아름 작곡가의 음악으로 꾸며지며, NBA 프로농구에서 미국 국가를 불렀던 뮤지컬 배우 최원현과 디즈니랜드 파크 뮤지컬에서 뮬란 역할을 맡았던 한예랑 배우가 주연을 맡습니다. 또한, 독일 베를린국제무용콩쿨 금상 수상자인 현대무용가 전효인이 안무를 맡아 무대를 더욱 빛낼 예정입니다.
이 공연은 할리우드 벌몬과 헐리웃에 위치한 반스달 극장에서 12월 20일부터 22일까지 단 3일간 열리며, 현재 티켓 판매가 진행 중입니다.
2013년 창단된 이즈키엘 극단은 그동안 청년예수, 마루마을, 살로메, 문, 포뮬라3, 카덴자 등 기독교적 내용을 담은 다양한 뮤지컬과 연극을 통해 많은 감동을 선사해 왔습니다. 모든 공연 수익은 기독교 관련 사역에 기부됩니다.

Alexis’ Christmas is a family musical presented by the Ezekiel Theatre Company to celebrate the 2024 Christmas season. The show is designed to be entertaining and vibrant, making it easy for children and families to understand the profound message behind Christmas. Following the success of last year’s 10th-anniversary performance of The Maron Puppet and the critically acclaimed play Cadenza at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, Ezekiel Theatre is ready to shine on stage once again.
This production features music composed by Hwang Areum, the composer behind Ezekiel’s hit Maru Village. The lead roles are played by musical actor Won-Hyun Choi , who sang the U.S. national anthem at an NBA game, and Lauren Han, who portrayed Mulan in the Disneyland Park musical. Additionally, contemporary dancer Hyoin Jun, who won the gold medal at the Berlin International Dance Competition in Germany, will be in charge of choreography, further enhancing the performance.
Alexis’ Christmas will be performed from December 20th to 22nd for just three days at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre, located in the heart of Hollywood at Vermont Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard. Tickets are now on sale.
Founded in 2013, Ezekiel Theatre Company has delivered numerous impactful performances with Christian themes, including Young Jesus, Maru Village, Salome, The Door, Formula 3, and Cadenza. All proceeds from these performances are donated to various Christian ministries.

To Be Liberated is set on the morning of August 15, 1945—Korea’s Liberation Day—just after the end of 35 years of Japanese occupation. The story follows the poignant reunion of two women, bound by a shared past, as they navigate the first breaths of freedom and the difficult path toward forgiveness. In honor of the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, the production features live traditional Korean music and English subtitles.

Featuring live music by Joseph Hwang, a student of Professor Donald Kim (UCLA Ethnomusicology), the production weaves in the enchanting sounds of the gayageum—a traditional Korean zither

Ezekiel Theater Company is a non-profit Christian performing arts organization established in 2013 by active theater professionals and actors with the purpose of “expanding the audience of Christian-themed plays to the general public.” Now in its 10th year, Ezekiel has grown into one of the most highly regarded Korean-American theater companies in LA. Since 2017, Ezekiel has expanded into English adaptations of previous works and short films. Recent highlights include ‘Son of Man’ The Musical’ performed in the Downey Civic Theatre in front of 1400 English-speaking audiences, and the ‘Maron Doll’ short film, which has received 12 wins and 15 nominations, including Best Original Story from the Los Angeles Film Awards (Dec), Best Drama Short from the IndieX Film Festival (Nov).
Currently, Ezekiel is working on ‘Cadenza’, a sci-fi mystery thriller stage-play for its 10th anniversary.
Ezekiel seeks to create stories that explore the themes of the Bible while providing an entertaining experience for all audiences.
Ezekiel (יְחֶזְקֵאל,) Ezekiel was a prophet during the final years of the Kingdom of Judah to the first half of Babylonian exile (approx. 593 B.C. – 571 B.C.). Prophet Ezekiel performed theater symbolizing the siege of Jerusalem atop a clay tablet (4:1-3), and God instructed him not to say anything beyond what was revealed to him (3:26, 24:27). The name “Ezekiel,” means “God strengthens” or “God trains.”
극단 이즈키엘은 전문 기독교 공연예술 단체으로서 각 분야에서 활동하고 있는 문화, 예술, 연극 전문가들과 전문 배우들이 “관객을 성도에서 일반인으로 확대시키자”라는 취지를 가지고 “생명의 예술 – 예수님을 통해 하나님의 생명이 불어 넣어진 자들이 전하는 예술”을 수많은 성도와 일반인 관객에게 선보이고 있습니다.
이즈키엘(Ezekiel/에스겔)은 유다왕국 말기부터 바빌론 포로기 전반(약 BC 593년 – BC 571년)에 걸쳐 활동한 선지자 입니다. 이즈키엘은 토판 위에서 예루살렘의 포위를 상징하는 연극을 했으며(4:1-3), 여호와께서는 에스겔에게 자신이 계시하는 것 외에 다른 말을 하지 못하도록 지시하셨습니다(3:26, 24:27) 이즈키엘의 이름은 “하나님이 강하게 하신다.”,”하나님이 단련시킨다.”라는 뜻입니다.
